Bulldogs Open 2004 Spring Practice
Wednesday's workout will be the first of an NCAA-mandated 15 practice sessions for the Bulldogs. During that limited time on the field, the staff will be challenged to evaluate the talent on hand, as well as install new philosophies on both sides of the ball.
"We want to find out really what kind of talent we have here," Croom said, "and we want to find out what kind of people we have. We want to get the players accustomed to winning habits.
"Our objective on the field this spring will be to develop the mental and physical toughness you have to have, and continue the conditioning program we started during the off-season," Croom continued. "We'll teach the offensive, defensive and kicking game schemes that will be the foundation of this program."
State will scrimmage three times during spring practice, including the spring-ending final scrimmage set for Saturday, April 17, at 6 p.m., at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. That scrimmage will be the cornerstone of this year's Super Bulldog Weekend activities on the MSU campus. All other spring practices and scrimmages are closed to the public.
