Diamond Dog J.B. Tucker Named To Academic All-District Team
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State sophomore catcher/desigtnated hitter J.B. Tucker has been named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District VI second team.
Tucker, who has MSU's second-highest batting average this season (.337), has compiled a 3.33 career grade point average in Business Administration. The Bradenton, Fla., product has started 25 games for the 14th-ranked Baseball Bulldogs, 18 as a catcher and seven as the designated hitter.
He is one of a school-record 13 Baseball Bulldogs named earlier this month to the 2003 SEC Baseball Academic Honor Roll.
