Three Lady Bulldog Netters Named To The SEC Academic Honor Roll
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must (1) have a 3.0 grade point average for either the past year (two semesters or three quarters) or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for their career, (2) be a sophomore or higher in terms of academic classification and (3) have 24 semester or 36 quarter hours toward a degree.
2001 graduate Carole Soubis, former Lady Bulldog Camila Segae and junior Yumi Ueda were named to the SEC Honor Roll for this year.
Soubis, a native of Moulins, France, is a three-time recipient of the award. Finishing her under-graduate degree in marketing with a 3.73 grade point average, Soubis completed her masters degree in business administration during the 2001-2002 academic year with a 3.60 GPA.
This is the first year Segae has received the honor. The Sao Paulo, Brazil, native holds a 3.61 GPA in international business.
A native of Hyogo, Japan, Ueda is also a first-time recipient of the honor. The Lady Bulldog had a 3.3 GPA in microbiology during the 2001-2002 school year.
For the last 19 years, MSU's women's tennis program has had a player named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Since her arrival to MSU, head coach Tracy Lane's athletes have been named to the honor roll 36 times. In the last six seasons, the Lady Bulldogs have been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll 33 times, a total higher than any other school.
