Bulldog Golfers Finish In 11th Place At The SEC Golf Championships
Finishing in a tie for 10th place, Codie Mudd shot a final round 70, his lowest of the tournament (75-72-70). Mudd's 70 stroke performance also tied his season-low third round score. Pacing the Bulldogs on the final day of competition, Joe Deraney tied his season low round score of 69 leaving him in a tie for 24th place (76-76-69).
Bulldogs Kellen Maurer (80-77-81) and Jay Giannetto (82-78-78) both finished the tournament at 28-over par in a tie for 55th place. Craig Horrocks hot a final round 86 putting him in 58th place (83-82-86).
Florida came from eight shots back to capture the team title at the Golf Championships. The Gators shot a final round 271 to finish the three rounds at 856.
Florida's Brett Stegmaier, a freshman from Madison, Conn., took the individual medalist honors, shooting a 54-hole SEC Tournament record 203, seven shots under par.
Next, State travels to Atlanta, Ga., May 8-9, for the Atlanta Intercollegiate held at the Eagle's Landing Country Club, a 72-par, 6,899 yard course.
