Three MSU Women's Hoopsters Named To SEC Academic Honor Roll
MSU had three student-athletes out of the 44 women's basketball players named to the list. Vanderbilt University topped the list with eight student-athletes on the academic rosters. The University of Mississippi was close behind with seven student-athletes, while the University of Florida has five honorees each. The Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2001-02 academic calendar.
The three honorees join 37 other MSU women's basketball players that have been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll 50 total times.
This marks the first appearance for junior Seneca Anderson. She posted 3.3 ppg and 2.5 rpg this season, playing in 32 games for the Maroon and White. Anderson is majoring in Teaching and Coaching at Mississippi State.
Former Lady Bulldog Meagan O'Nan was named to the Honor Roll for the second straight year. O'Nan is a junior this year on MSU's softball team. Former Lady Bulldog Lyndi Sippel was named to the list for the second time as well. Sippel is now attending UT-Chattanooga where she will be eligible to play basketball next season.
