Women's Basketball Holds Lady Bulldog Awards Banquet
In addition MSU posted the best SEC finish in history with a tie for third place and 10-4 SEC mark, earning a bye in the SEC Tournament for the first time in school history. The Lady Bulldogs also enjoyed its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance.
Senior four-time Kodak All-American LaToya Thomas headlined the awards taking home the Most Valuable Player as well as the Best Rebounder, Field Goal Percentage and Free Throw Percentage awards.
Sophomore guard Tan White took home the Coaches Award and Most Assists Award while freshman Doceide Warren was named the Most Improved Player after joining the squad on the court in December.
Sophomore forward Rebecca Kates was given the Community Service Award and the Newson Academic Award for having the highest GPA on the team. Louisiana-native Blessing Chekwa was named the Best Defensive Player.
