MSU Women Take On In-State Rival No. 47 Mississippi On Friday
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi State University women's tennis team (7-12, 1-9) takes on in-state rival No. 47th-ranked Mississippi (6-13, 2-8) on Friday, April 11, in Oxford at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center for the final regular season match for both schools. The Lady Rebels led the series with the Lady Bulldogs 39-5.
State is coming off its first SEC win of the season with a victory of the Lady Razorbacks of Arkansas in a 4-1 decision on Sunday. In its last match, Ole Miss fell 4-3 to LSU on the road.
Leading State in singles is Justyna Switala with a 10-11 record and .476 winning percentage. Switala also leads the squad in doubles with partner Yumi Ueda. The tandem has a .667 winning percentage and a 4-2 record.
Next for MSU is the SEC tournament to be held in Knoxville, Tenn., April 17-20 at the Varsity Courts. The tournament has a single elimation format.
