Bulldogs Enter Final Week Of Spring Practice
The Bulldogs worked for just over two hours in its 13th practice of the spring period. State concludes its off-season drills Thursday and play the spring-ending Maroon and White final scrimmage Saturday. MSU's last intra-squad game will kick off at 12 noon Saturday as part of Super Bulldog Weekend activities.
With temperatures dipping into the low 40s and a stout wind howling from the north, head football coach Jackie Sherrill's team devoted more of the workout than usual to team offense and defense, prepping his charges for Saturday's full-speed final scrimmage. Full-contact inside drills and extensive work in the throwing game drew most of the staff's attention.
Only one new Bulldog was added to the injured list prior to the Wednesday workout. Sophomore halfback Jerious Norwood (Brandon, Miss.), who was sidelined during the Bulldogs' second spring scrimmage last Saturday, did not participate Wednesday due to a leg bruise and a high ankle sprain.
