State/Auburn Softball Series Finale Rained Out
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The regularly scheduled rubber game of Mississippi State's (28-16, 8-9 SEC) three-game series with Auburn (20-24, 8-12) was officially cancelled due to heavy rains that moved through the Oktibbeha County area on Sunday afternoon. The game will not be made up.
The game, which was slated for an SEC-TV regional broadcast, also marked the last stop on State's 10-game homestand. The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday when they begin a eight-game roadtrip in Oxford with a three-game series against cross-state nemesis Mississippi (14-24, 3-12) at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
The squads will open their set with a 5 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday and will play the series finale on Thursday at 5 p.m.
