MSU Women Netters Take On No. 53 LSU And No. 55 Arkansas This Weekend
LSU leads the series with State 22-6. In their last meeting, the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Bulldogs 7-0 in Starkville at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
MSU enters the match coming off a loss to sixth-ranked Georgia, 7-0. In its last match, LSU was defeated by the 15th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats, 7-0, at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center this past Sunday.
State's Justyna Switala leads the squad with a singles 10-10 record and a 7-5 dual action record. She also holds a two-match win streak, the best on the team. In doubles, Switala and Yumi Ueda lead the pack with a 4-2 overall record and a perfect 2-0 dual match record. The duo also holds a two-match win streak.
On Sunday, the Lady Bulldogs will return home for their final home match against the Lady Razorbacks of Arkansas (8-10, 0-8). The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Pitts Tennis Centre.
Sunday is also Senior Day honoring MSU's lone senior Elaine Fagan. A special ceremony will be held prior to the start of the match.
