Bulldog Netters To Face No. 19 Georgia In Athens
State (6-9 overall and 2-5 in Southeastern Conference) and Georgia (7-10, 3-4) have met 41 times in the recorded history (since 1969). UGA holds a commanding 37-4 series lead on MSU in that time. Georgia has won the last 10 meetings between the schools, dating back to 1996.
MSU is led by junior all-American Romain Ambert who is now 28-9 at the No. 1 singles position during his career. He is currently ranked 25th nationally, but has been as high as No. 3 in the country during his career. The Athens-based Bulldogs are paced by junior Bo Hodge, who currently holds down that No. 3 national spot.
Following Sunday's contest, State returns home next Friday, April 4, to host 20th-ranked LSU. The Bulldogs will then meet No. 26 Arkansas in Fayetteville next Sunday before closing out the regular season on Saturday, April 12, hosting fifth-ranked arch-rival Mississippi as part of Super Bulldog Weekend activities.
