Volleyball Bulldogs Post 3-1 Mark In Opening Spring Tournament
MSU turned back the host SEL team 2-0 (30-21, 30-19), topped UNO 2-0 (30-20, 30-28), dropped a 2-0 decision to Louisiana State (25-30, 30-32) and then closed out the daylong competition with a 2-0 win over Southern Miss (30-26, 30-23).
"This was a good start to our spring tournament schedule," said Bulldog head coach Brenda Bowlin. "We had a number of players perform well. I was especially pleased with the play of setter Andrea Mead, who did a nice job handling the setting duties in the absence of regular starting setter Jenn Hadden." Hadden is one of two Bulldogs sidelined this spring while rehabilitating offseason surgeries.
Mississippi State continues its spring tournament schedule this Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with round-robin volleyball competition at the University of Alabama Invitational.
