Lady Bulldogs Fall To Tigers, 5-2
Auburn won the doubles point sweeping all the matches. On court one, No. 43-ranked Petra Bercik and Carolina Ramirez defeated MSU's duo of Marcelle Hirt and Magdi Rekasi in an 8-5 decision. Anastasia Kugakolova and Yumi Ueda dropped their match at the second position to Tigers Ashley Cowart and Liz Sauerborn, 8-1. At No. 3, Elaine Fagan and Justyna Switala fell 8-5 to Isabel Rosenbrock and Sarah Suitor.
In singles action, Kugakolova defeated Rosenbrock at the third position 6-2, 6-2, improving her singles record to 7-7. At No. 6, Switala defeated Cowart 6-4, 6-3. Switala is currently the team singles leader with a 7-5 record and .583 winning percentage.
Rekasi fell, on court one, to Ramirez 6-2, 7-5. Hirt dropped her match to Bercik in a 6-3, 6-1 decision at the third position. At No. 4, Fagan was defeated by Sauerborn 6-3, 6-4. Ueda fell 6-1, 6-0 to Auburn?s Suitor on court five.
State will take a week off and return to action Friday, March 28, to host the Lady Vols of Tennessee at A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. The match is set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
