MSU-JSU Series Opener Reset For 2 P.M. At Dudy Noble Field
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The 23rd-ranked Baseball Bulldogs will be looking for an assist from Mother Nature Saturday afternoon in their attempt to open a weekend series with the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks at Dudy Noble Field. Saturday's game is set for 2 p.m. following the cancellation of Friday's scheduled opener due to weather concerns.
MSU (3-1-1) will send senior right-hander Tanner Brock (1-0, 0.00) to the hill opposite JSU senior righty Lucas McCollum (1-1, 4.05).
The Bulldogs opened the week with a pair of wins in Louisiana, scoring a season-high 14 runs in a 14-7 win at Louisiana Tech Tuesday and then getting a route-going pitching performance from junior hurler Chris Young in a 6-5 win at Louisiana-Monroe.
Jacksonville State, coached by former MSU assistant coach Jim Case, opens the weekend at 7-5 after sweeping a three-game home series with Oakland.
MSU season ticket holders are reminded to retain the tickets for all canceled games for possible use later in the season.
