Bulldogs Announce 2016 Volleyball Camp Dates
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Fresh off a stellar 2015 season, Mississippi State volleyball coach David McFatrich and his staff have announced the dates for the 2016 summer camps.
Applications are now being accepted for this summer’s girls volleyball camps. There are a total of four sessions, each under the direction of McFatrich and include the current Mississippi State coaching staff, current and former Bulldog players in addition to college, club and high school coaches.
Each session will be held in the Newell-Grissom Gym and the Sanderson Recreation Center. Each session will offer intense, specialized volleyball instruction with an emphasis on the fundamentals of the game – forearm passing, serving, setting, blocking, attacking and defense.
Four camps are offered, with all necessary information below:
Ruff Ruff Camp – July 11-12
Ages: 4-11 years old
Commuter Only: $25
Session: 3:00-4:30 p.m.
Check-in: 2:45 p.m., Monday and Tuesday
Check-out: 4:30 p.m., Monday and Tuesday
Information: This is an introduction to volleyball camp. It is designed for young athletes to learn all aspects of the game by focusing on all of the basics of forearm passing, serving, setting, blocking, attacking and defense.
All Skills Camp – July 13-14
Ages: 12-18 years old
Commuter: $125
Resident: $200
Check-in: 1:30 p.m., Wednesday
Check-out: 3:30 p.m., Thursday
*Meals included for all campers
Information: This fundamental camp will help the players in all aspects of the game by focusing on all of the basics of forearm passing, serving, setting, blocking, attacking and defense. Players will be grouped with players of similar skill level and age range.
Team Camp – July 15-16
Ages: Junior Varsity and Varsity teams
Commuter: $75 per player
Resident: $100 per player (upon request)
Check-in: 9:00 a.m., Friday
Check-out: 4:00 p.m., Saturday

Information: Coaches Q&A session with Bulldog staff. Tournament style play.
Elite Dawg Camp – July 18-20
Ages: Going into high school Freshman-Senior year
Commuter: $150
Resident: $225
Check-in: 1:00 p.m., Monday
Check-out: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday
*Meals included for all campers
Information: This camp is not for beginners. If you want to know what its like to be a Bulldog, this is the camp for you. The Elite Dawg Camp is designed to show you exactly what a practice with the Bulldog coaching staff is like. It is designed for athletes with several years of club experience.
