UPDATE: 17 Diamond Dawgs Playing Summer Baseball

STARKVILLE, Miss. – From the Northeast to the West Coast, 18 current Mississippi State baseball players are competing in wooden bat collegiate summer leagues across the country. Below are some highlights as of Thursday, June 26, 2015.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The five Diamond Dawg pitchers (Zac Houston, Dakota Hudson, Vance Tatum, Austin Sexton, Daniel Brown) in the Cape Cod Baseball League have combined for a 2.28 ERA in 55 1/3 innings of work, striking out 55 and walking 17.
- Brown has not given up an earned run in 11 innings of work.
- Houston and Hudson are both tied for fourth with 15 strikeouts in the CCBL.

- Outfielder Brent Rooker is hitting .400 in 14 games with the Plymouth Pilgrims. Rooker leads the New England Collegiate Baseball League with with 24 hits, five home runs and 16 RBIs, while ranking second in runs (14), fifth in doubles (5) and average.
- All-SEC freshman shortstop Ryan Gridley leads the Waynesboro Generals with a .368 average, 15 runs and 25 hits. Gridley’s average ranks eighth in the Valley Baseball League.
- Infielder John Holland is hitting .424 in 33 at-bats for the Santa Barbara Foresters, which ranks fourth in the California Collegiate League.
- Relief pitcher Logan Elliot has tallied a 0.94 ERA in 19 innings with the Alpharetta Braves of the Sunbelt League.
- Catcher Josh Lovelady is hitting .357 in 10 games with the Elmira Pioneers of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
- Outfielder Cody Brown is riding a five-game hitting streak for the Bethesda Big Train, hitting .389 (7-for-18) during that stretch. Brown is third in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League with 10 stolen bases.
- First baseman Cole Gordon is hitting .333 in seven games with the Lima Locos.
