SEC Network, ESPNU Announce 2015 Soccer, Volleyball Schedules
STARKVILLE, Miss. – With the fall season rapidly approaching, the Southeastern Conference announced its 2015 television slate for the SEC Network and ESPNU, which features six Mississippi State volleyball matches and a pair of Bulldog soccer contests.
For the second-straight year, SEC soccer and volleyball will see extensive coverage of 80 matches on national television, with SEC Network and ESPNU broadcasting a combined 30 soccer matches and 50 volleyball contests.
Bulldog soccer will make the 2015 SEC Network debut for MSU, taking on Arkansas in Fayetteville on Sunday, Sept. 20, at Noon CT. Coach Aaron Gordon and his MSU squad will return to the airwaves on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m., at Alabama. That contest will be broadcasted on ESPNU, Bulldog soccer’s first appearance on the channel since 2012.
Once again, the SEC Soccer Tournament will be broadcasted on the two channels, starting with the first round on Nov. 2. All first round, quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be shown on the SEC Network, with the Sunday, Nov. 8, championship match broadcasted on ESPNU.
The volleyball Bulldogs and first-year head coach David McFatrich will be a part of the first SEC volleyball match broadcast on the SEC Network this year, travelling to Alabama on Sept. 23 for a 7 p.m. first serve.
MSU will be on the road for its next two matches, at Ole Miss on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m., and at Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. Both matches will be on the SEC Network.
McFatrich and his Bulldogs will make their SEC Network home debut on Sunday, Oct. 4, as they host the South Carolina Gamecocks at 11 a.m. at Newell-Grissom. MSU will return to SECN later in the month, hosting Tennessee on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Noon.
State volleyball’s final televised match is set for Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m., against Georgia, also on the SEC Network.
An additional slate of games, to be announced at a later date, will be carried on the SEC Network’s digital platforms. All SEC Network and ESPNU games will be available on WatchESPN.
The SEC Network, which is entering its second year, has already quintupled national coverage of soccer and volleyball since its launch last fall.
