German Standout Golfer Soller Signs With MSU

STARKVILLE, Miss. – For his latest golf signee, Mississippi State coach Clay Homan searched overseas, and what he discovered were the talents of Germany’s Severin Soller.
On Monday, Homan announced the signing of Soller, a Munich native who is eligible to begin play this fall.
He comes to MSU after finishing fourth at the Hungarian Championships and 22nd at the Dutch Open.
“The experiences he’s had on the international scene will play a major factor in his success here,” said Homan, who begins his 13th season at the helm this year. “He’s battled against the best in Europe, and he’ll bring a competitive fire with him to Mississippi State. I’m looking forward to coaching him and seeing him develop as a player here in the United States.”
Other highlights of Soller’s career include a 12th-place finish at the German Boys Championship and a 22nd-place finish at the Dutch Junior Open.
Soller, who turns 20 on Dec. 11, also tied for 33rd at the Boys Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club.
