McDonald, Peng Tabbed All-American

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Another year of success for the Mississippi State women’s golf team has equated into more accolades for standouts Ally McDonald and Jessica Peng.
Both were recognized Friday by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association as McDonald was tabbed second-team All-American, while Peng received honorable mention honors.
Earlier this month, they were named to the All-SEC teams.
“Ally and Jessica have been great representatives for Mississippi State both on and off the course, and for them to be recognized as All-Americans is a testament to the hard work they have given the game of golf,” said MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm, whose team finished 2014-15 ranked No. 16. “From Day 1, they bought into what we are doing as a program, and they have facilitated Mississippi State golf into an elite program.”
McDonald concluded her illustrious career earlier this year by leading the Bulldogs to their third-consecutive NCAA appearance. She finished her senior campaign ranked No. 8 nationally by GolfStat.com after posting a scoring average of 72.17 in 30 rounds of play.
She holds the majority of MSU’s individual records, and this season she placed in the Top 10 in four tournaments, winning twice. In the fall, she set the school and course record at the Belmar Golf Club in the Schooner Classic (Norman, Okla.) with a 63.
Peng, a sophomore, finished the season ranked No. 18 with a scoring average of 72.57 and a team-best 97 birdies. In 10 tournaments, she posted seven Top 10 finishes and placed third at the Schooner Fall Classic with a 7-under-par.
