State Soccer Heads To Alabama Open Cup Saturday
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Saturday’s scheduled exhibition contest against UAB has been cancelled, so the Mississippi State soccer team will now load the bus and head to Decatur, Ala., to play in The Open Cup University Showcase.
Aaron Gordon’s squad will play three friendlies Saturday at the Jack Allen Recreational Complex beginning with an 11 a.m. contest against Memphis
State faces South Alabama at 11:50 a.m. before wrapping round-robin play at 12:40 p.m. against an Alabama squad it defeated 3-2 Tuesday night at the MSU Soccer Field.
Wins garner three points while a tie nets one point. The top two teams in the table meet in the final at 3:15 p.m.
The Bulldogs meet Memphis again on April 15 in the spring finale in Tupelo, Miss. Kickoff for that contest is set for 8 p.m.
