Bulldog Volleyball Opens Spring Schedule At Jacksonville State

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A new era of Mississippi State volleyball begins on Saturday, as the Bulldogs will take the court for the first time under David McFatrich to open spring play at Jacksonville State.
The Bulldogs will take to Oxford, Ala., and Kennamer Gymnasium for a trio of scrimmages, competing against squads from Jacksonville State, South Alabama and Georgia Tech. Each scrimmage is scheduled for a minimum of two sets to 25 in a 55 minute span.
“Our players have been working really hard in practices and are excited to take what they have learned this spring and try them in an actual match,” McFatrich said. “Overall, it’s exciting for both the players and the coaches, because this will represent our first competition together here at Mississippi State.”
MSU will open against South Alabama at 11 a.m. CT, and follow right after with a 12 p.m., showdown versus Jacksonville State. The Bulldogs close the scrimmages with a contest against Georgia Tech at 2 p.m.
Spring play for the Bulldogs will conclude Wednesday, April 15, with the Maroon and White scrimmage. The intrasquad scrimmage is set for 5 p.m., at the Newell-Grissom Building.
