STARKVILLE, Miss. – Regular season play comes to a conclusion on Saturday as Mississippi State hosts Missouri in a Senior Night showdown.
Tip-off at Humphrey Coliseum is set for 5:30 p.m. on the SEC Network, with Matt Stewart and Darrin Horn providing courtside commentary. Jim Ellis and Richard Williams will have the call of the game on the MSU Radio Network and on Sirus/XM channels 113 and 191.
The Bulldogs will honor seniors Trivante Bloodman, Isaiah Butler, Jeffery Johnson and Roquez Johnson prior to the opening tip. Admission is free for students, and pizza will be provided for students while supplies last.
Fans can also purchase half-priced tickets by participating in the Tornado Relief Initiative by donating non-perishable food items, clothing, blankets, flashlights and batteries as part of the Kroger’s Million Meals Challenge, with food going to the Mississippi Food Network. Bins will be located at the Humphrey Coliseum ticket office to collect all items.
MSU (12-18, 5-12) looks to end the regular season on high note after suffering a 66-56 setback at Vanderbilt on Wednesday. Craig Sword scored 20 points for the Bulldogs, doing so for the second-straight game and for the fifth time this season.
Sword paces Rick Ray’s squad with 10.8 points per game and a 14.4 scoring clip in SEC games. Gavin Ware also averages double figures in the scoring column with 10.2 points an outing while leading the team with 7.2 rebounds per contest.
Mizzou (9-21, 3-14) snapped a 13-game losing streak by winning two of its last three games against Florida and Auburn. The Tigers are winless in road games this season and are led by Wes Clark and Johnathan Williams III, who both average 11.7 points an outing.
MU holds a 4-2 lead in the all-time series, while the schools have split the two meetings in Starkville. The teams met in Columbia three weeks ago on Valentine’s Day, where MSU used clutch free throw shooting down the stretch to claim a 77-74 victory.
Following Saturday’s regular season finale, the Bulldogs will begin SEC Tournament action on Wednesday.
