MSU Women?s Golf Looks To Continue Success in South Carolina

Hilton Head, S.C. – Following a challenging performance in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans two weeks ago, the Mississippi State women’s golf team now turns its attention toward the Darius Rucker Invitational.
The Bulldogs head to Hilton Head, S.C., and the prestigious Long Cove Golf Club, which will play host to 17 teams. Among the field are 11 of the last 20 national champions combined, as well as 12 teams ranked in the Top 20 most recent GolfStat.com rankings.
“We are primed and ready for this weekend,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “We have prepared hard in spite of uncharacteristic weather and hope to see it pay off."
The Bulldog’s 8th-place finish in their last tournament marks the seventh-consecutive tournament it's placed in the Top 10.
Play begins Friday, with the first group teeing off at 7:30 a.m. CT. MSU is slated for an 8:20 a.m., tee time, with sophomore Blaise Carabello. The three-day event concludes on Sunday.
With winter weather expected to enter the Hilton Head area throughout the weekend, delays in play are possible. Fans can keep updated on playing conditions, as well as all things MSU women’s golf, by following the Bulldogs on Twitter at HailStateWG.
