MSU, BYU Schedule 2016-17 Football Series
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State and BYU have scheduled a future home-and-home football series for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, it was announced Friday.
The teams will meet at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, on Oct. 15, 2016, with the second game being played at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field in Starkville on Oct. 14, 2017.
BYU and Mississippi State have previously played twice in football with the series tied 1-1. MSU, behind three defensive touchdowns, beat the Cougars 44-28 on Sept. 14, 2000 in Provo. BYU responded with a 31-28 win over the Bulldogs in Starkville on Dec. 1, 2001. The 2001 contest was moved to the end of the season due to the events of 9/11.
