Bulldog Women?s Tennis Climbs To No. 27 In ITA Rankings
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Following the biggest win in school history, a 4-3 upset of No. 6 Alabama this past Sunday, the Mississippi State women’s tennis team has climbed 14 spots to No. 27 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings, released Tuesday.
Tuesday’s ranking marks the highest for the program since May 2, 2005, when the Bulldogs (13-3/3-2 SEC) were ranked at No. 26. State began the 2015 season unranked, but has been climbing all season, and was No. 41 prior to today’s updated rankings.
State will look for its fourth consecutive SEC win this weekend, as the Bulldogs hit the road to face No. 43 South Carolina on Friday and No. 2 Florida on Sunday.
