Bulldogs No. 14 In 15th-Straight Week In USA Today Coaches Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State remained in the Top 15 of the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll Tuesday, coming in at No. 14.
The Bulldogs fell one place in their 15th-straight week in the poll.
State matched its best SEC finish in school history with a 55-47 win against Ole Miss on March 1.
The Bulldogs fell to Kentucky, No. 11 in this week’s poll, 76-67 in last Friday’s SEC Tournament quarterfinal.
SEC Co-Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer’s squad continues one of the best seasons in school history when it finds out its NCAA Tournament destination March 16 at 6 p.m. CT.
MSU has set new program bests for overall wins (26) and league wins (11). In addition to matching the top SEC finish (third place), State also set school records for home wins (17) and the most consecutive wins (18).
Mississippi State also established a new season attendance record with 67,598 attending games at Humphrey Coliseum this season. The Bulldogs capped the regular season with a crowd of 7,326, the largest ever to watch a college women’s basketball game in the state of Mississippi.
The Bulldogs and Wildcats are joined in this week’s poll by conference foes South Carolina (No. 4), Tennessee (No. 5) and Texas A&M (No. 19).
