In May 2013, the Southeastern Conference and ESPN officially announced that the newly-created SEC Network would launch in August 2014. On August 14, 2014, the Network officially went live to over 90 million fans around the world. SEC Commissioner Mike Slive noted the event, saying it was the "most successful launch of a new cable network in all of cable history."
SEC Network - What Is It?
The SEC Network means unprecedented coverage of Mississippi State Athletics, as well as the remainder of the SEC, available at your fingertips through mobile devices as well as through your television. With more than 1,000 live events airing the first year of the network, MSU's commitment to the network makes the Bulldogs a significant part of that effort.
Fans will need the SEC Network to receive the most complete television and digital coverage of Bulldog teams on mobile devices and televisions. Don't be left out. Don't wait. Call your cable or satellite provider today and demand the SEC Network.
The new network and its accompanying digital platform will carry SEC content 24/7 including more than 1,000 events in its first year. The network will televise 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men’s basketball games, 60 women’s basketball games, 75 baseball games, and events from across the SEC’s 21 sports annually. Programming will also include in-depth commentary and analysis in studio shows, daily news and information, original content such as SEC Storied, spring football games, and more.
The SEC Network will be available on computers, tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices like Xbox to fans who receive their video subscription through an affiliated provider. The aim is to make this content available to fans anytime, anywhere, similar to how the WatchESPN application works today.
All in all, more than 1,000 live events will be available in the first full year alone across the television network and its digital extensions.
You cannot pay to subscribe to the network separately. Your provider must pick up the channel, otherwise you miss out on everything.

The answer is BOTH. The SEC Network will live on televisions, computers, smartphones and tablets. Live games and events will be carried on all of these mediums, but in order for you to access the content, your provider MUST carry the channel!

What Providers Have Signed On To Carry The SEC Network?
AT&T U-verse® TV, Bright House Networks, Charter, Comcast Xfinity TV, Cox Communications, DIRECTV, DISH, Google Fiber, LUS Fiber, PTC Communications, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, Wilkes Telephone, and members of the NCTC, NRTC and NTTC are already carrying the television network nationwide. ESPN will continue negotiating with the other distributors.
Hundreds of additional live events from various sports will be offered exclusively as SEC Network+ events on WatchESPN and SECNetwork.com Provided you are a customer of of AT&T U-verse, Charter, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV, DISH, Google Fiber, Suddenlink, and members of the NCTC, NRTC and NTTC you will have authenticated access. You can contact your provider and get a username and password which will allow you to access the content on computers, tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices like Xbox.

What Mississippi State Sports Will I Be Able to Watch On The SEC Network?
The majority of MSU's home games (and also many road games) in the sports listed below will be carried on the SEC Network, if not already selected for television broadcast by other networks. They will be denoted on HailState.com's sports schedules as SECN (for SEC Network TV broadcasts) and SECN+ (for SEC Network digital broadcasts).
MSU sports to be carried in initial year of SEC Network: Baseball, Basketball (Men's), Basketball (Women's), Football, Soccer, Softball, Voilleyball.
SEC Network - What It Means For HailStateTV
Essentially, the SEC Network replaces all institutionally branded streaming networks at SEC schools in terms of broadcasting live video content. The majority of live video of Mississippi State games (some exceptions) that was previously broadcast on HailStateTV will now be available on the SEC Network.
- HailStateTV is now HailStatePLUS
HailStateTV's name has officially changed to HailStatePLUS. All live audio content (live game broadcasts, coaches' call-in shows, etc.) that was previously provided on HSTV will still be provided, along with on-demand video content (such as interviews, special features, etc.) produced by MSU Athletics.
- Will I need to subscribe to HailStatePLUS
YES and NO
YES - For all live audio and selected on-demand video, fans will need to subscribe to HailStatePLUS at the low monthly rate of $3.99/month. In addition to the HailStatePLUS portal on desktop, the subscription will also allow fans to access this content on MSU's official mobile apps as well (audio and video access requires app purchase).
NO - Some selected on-demand video content will remain free of charge through HailStatePLUS.
