22 Diamond Dawgs Currently In Professional Baseball
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Twenty-two former Mississippi State baseball players are currently in professional baseball, including four currently playing in Big Leagues. Below are their updated stats following games which ended Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Please tweet any corrections to @HailStateBB.
RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Philadelphia Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon is tied for ninth in the MLB with 13 saves.
- Hunter Renfroe recorded an eight-game hitting streak from May 19-26, hitting .441 (15-for-34) with 12 RBIs, seven runs, four home runs and two doubles.
- Renfroe is tied for the Class A Advance California League lead with 12 home runs, is tied for second in games played (52), is tied for fourth with 40 RBIs and ranks 10th with a .536 slugging percentage.
- Nick Vickerson is fifth in the Class A South Atlantic League with a .419 on-base percentage and is tied for fourth with 27 walks.
- Nick Routt has been placed with the Dayton Dragons Class A team in the Midwest League, where he joins former Bulldog Evan Mitchell.
- Daryl Norris has been placed with the Lakeland Tigers Class A Advanced team in the Florida State League.
