Comer Named To SEC Track And Field Community Service Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Middle distance runner Jessica Comer was named to the 2014 Southeastern Conference Track and Field Community Service Team, the league announced on Monday.
The junior from Caledonia, Miss., clocks numerous volunteer hours when she’s not on the track, serving in the nursery and as a vacation bible school worker at Woodland Baptist Church. Additionally, Comer helps with Bulldogs on the Move, Service Dawgs, Sonbeams Special Needs Ministry and World Changers.
“I am so honored and thankful to receive this recognition,” Comer said. “Getting involved in different service opportunities has been a great way to give back to a community that has given so much to me during my time at MSU. I just love helping people.”
Comer is also a standout in the classroom, spending three seasons on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. A member of the Shackouls Honors College, she is one of MSU’s brightest students.
The Bulldog is one of 13 women named to this year’s Service Team. The SEC honors men and women from across the league who give back to their community through superior service efforts.
