MSU Women?s Tennis Set To Host Tennessee Sunday Afternoon
Mississippi State (8-5 overall, 0-3 SEC) is coming off a 7-0 loss to Georgia. Despite the loss, the Bulldog duo of Alexandra Perper and Naomi Tran did earn a big upset over Georgia’s No. 2 nationally ranked tandem of Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase. The Bulldogs also pushed two singles matches into third-set tiebreakers, as both Perper and Timea Guibe came just short of taking away singles victories. Georgia Patrasc, ranked 93rd nationally, also battled hard at the top spot against 10th-ranked Herring, falling in a tough first-set tiebreak that swung the momentum.
The Lady Vols are led by No. 55 Eve Repic, who will enter the match with a 6-4 dual match record. Tennessee is coming off of a 5-2 loss at No. 49 Ole Miss on Friday in Oxford.

Following Sunday’s match, State will remain at home for its next two affairs as well, hosting No. 22 Kentucky and No. 7 Vanderbilt next Friday (3 p.m) and Sunday (1 p.m.), respectively, at the Pitts Tennis Centre.
