Baseball To Eclipse Five Million Fan Mark At Dudy Noble Thursday

A commemorative pin will be given to the first 5,000 fans on Friday night in celebration of the landmark.
"I've said before Dudy Noble Field is the Carnegie Hall of college baseball, if you're in this sport, you want to play here," head coach John Cohen said. "It's a remarkable number - five MILLION - and every one of those people to walk through the gates have created this atmosphere that is so special to our players, alumni and everyone that supports our program."
The five million mark isn't the lone impressive attendance mark set to be accomplished at this weekend's regular-season ending series against South Carolina. MSU enters the weekend only 13,663 fans away from breaking the school's single-season attendance mark of 233,015 established in 2003.
Mississippi State enters the three-game set ranked 10th nationally in the latest NCAA RPI while South Carolina comes in ranked 11th. First pitch on Thursday and Friday is set for 6:30 p.m., and the third game of the series will begin at 2 p.m.
