Mississippi State Football To Face Kentucky On Thursday Night

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State football returns to the Thursday night stage in 2013, the Southeastern Conference and ESPN announced Tuesday. The Bulldogs take on Kentucky as part of the national network's Thursday primetime package on October 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Dating back to 1992, Mississippi State has played 14 times on Thursday night, 11 times at Davis Wade Stadium. The Bulldogs have not played a Thursday night contest since 2011.
"We appreciate the university administration assisting us with this national television appearance," director of athletics Scott Stricklin said. "The university has already scheduled the campus fall break for Thursday and Friday of that week, ensuring this opportunity does not interrupt classes and the academic mission of the university."
With fall break on campus Thursday and Friday (Oct. 24 and 25), normal university gameday tailgating and traffic policies, including access to all Bulldog Club and public parking, will be in place.
Mississippi State has a bye week the week prior to the Thursday night contest, and a full schedule can be found below and at HailState.com.
"The ESPN Thursday night package is yet another opportunity for us to show off Mississippi State to a large audience," head coach Dan Mullen said. "With us having an off week prior to the Kentucky game, it was a move that made a lot of sense."
