Volleyball Bulldogs Add Prep Standouts Enright, Warren

STARKVILLE, Miss. --- Mississippi State volleyball coach Jenny Hazelwood has announced the addition of two student-athletes to the Bulldogs' roster for the 2012 campaign.
Joining the MSU volleyball program and currently enrolled at MSU are outside hitter Katie Enright of Novi, Michigan, and middle blocker Alex Warren of San Antonio, Texas.
"We are really thrilled to be adding two outstanding players to this year's class at Mississippi State," said Hazelwood. "Katie is a strong all-around volleyball player who will add a great deal of depth to our outside hitter position and Alex gives us another great middle blocker to complement the outstanding middles we already have. She is a tremendous athlete and will be a huge asset to our program."
Enright starred for three seasons at Novi High School, where she was a three-time all-conference and all-area performer playing for Coach Ginnette Parsley. She piled up a team-best 350 kills with 181 digs and 70 blocks and earned 2011 all-state honors after helping lead the NHS Wildcats to a 41-6 record and the Kensington Lake Athletic Association (KLAA) divisional championship. She played club volleyball for the Legacy Volleyball Club, coached by Jen Cottrill, and played in the junior nationals in 2009 and 2010.
She is the daughter of Marie and Dan Enright of Novi, Michigan.
Warren was a two-time all-district and academic all-district standout playing for Coach Rodney Vigil at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas. The 6-1 middle blocker led the Rough Riders with 428 kills and 396 digs and served as team captain in 2011. A four-year member of the RHS volleyball team, Warren was also a member of Roosevelt High School's district championship track team. She played club volleyball with the Superior Sports Volleyball Club teams coached by Sara Rangel-Mendez.
The MSU signee is the daughter of Yvette and Alton Warren of San Antonio, Texas.
Both newcomers will take part in preseason practices on campus in August as the Bulldogs prepare for their 2012 season-opening competition in the MSU Maroon Classic Aug. 24-25 at the Newell-Grissom Building.
