McDonald Set For NCAA West Regional

"I'm ready to see what I can do this postseason," McDonald said. "It's an honor to represent Mississippi State and be able to show where we are going as a program. I'm excited to play in Colorado and show what I can do on the golf course."
McDonald is the first Lady Bulldog to record a postseason appearance since Amanda Mathis played in the 2007 East Regional.
The Fulton, Miss., native is currently on pace to break MSU's all-time single-season freshman scoring record with a 74.22 average. She is only two-hundredths of a stroke away from setting the overall mark.
Failing to make the Top 25 in only two tournaments this year, McDonald led the squad with four Top 10 finishes, two of which were Top 5's. Her second-place finish in the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate garnered SEC Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
She will tee off alongside Kayla Mortellaro of Idaho and Amy Anderson of North Dakota State at 9:25 CST Thursday. Friday will be a 1:45 tee time before another 9:25 slot on Saturday.
"I'm so proud of Ally," MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "She's worked so hard this season and has been our leader on and off the course. She has a chance to showcase not only her talent, but also the direction we are going at MSU. I know she is prepared and will represent Mississippi State well."
Live stats for each round will be available through NCAA.com.
The top two individuals from each of the three regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship hosted at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Nashville, Tenn., on May 22-25.
