Ramey Earns MSU's First Individual Postseason Bid Since 2005

"It is a honor to be able to represent Mississippi State in the postseason," Ramey said. "Having the chance to continue playing is a great opportunity to show what being a Bulldog is all about. This will be a great experience to not only play but also to learn and to grow as a golfer."
Ramey currently owns the SEC's 18th-best scoring average at 72.39, which is also on pace to be the sixth-lowest season average in MSU history.
The Fulton, Miss., native failed to post a Top 25 card only twice this year. His eight Top 15's and three Top 10's is tops on the team.
He became the first Bulldog to earn All-SEC honors since 2000. Ramey was named an All-SEC second team performer after a seventh-place finish in the SEC Championship, MSU's best individual finish since 2009.
"Being selected to play in the postseason is a great honor for Chad," MSU coach Clay Homan said. "I know he will represent Mississippi State well. It's a little different when you compete as an individual because it's all about what you do. It will be more like summer golf and less of what we see each week in team play. I know Chad will be up for the challenge."
The last Bulldog to make the postseason as an individual was Joe Deraney in 2005. The team last appeared in a 2009 regional.
The top finishers at each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship hosted at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., from May 29 - June 3.
