Ramey Set For Postseason Golf Action

The three-round event begins Thursday and concludes on Saturday.
"It is an honor to be able to represent Mississippi State in the postseason," Ramey said. "Having the chance to continue playing is a great opportunity to show what being a Bulldog is all about. This will be a great experience to not only play but also to learn and to grow as a golfer."
The sophomore standout for the Maroon and White currently owns the SEC's 18th-best scoring average at 72.39, which is also on pace to be the sixth-lowest season average in MSU history.
The All-SEC contributor became the first Bulldog since 2000 to earn that title and finished 7th at the SEC Championships this season to claim the best finish from a Bulldog since 2009. The eight Top 15s and three Top 10s lead the 2012 MSU squad.
Ramey will tee off alongside Kamito Hirai of Winthrop and Bart George of Loyola-Maryland at 8:50 a.m. Thursday on the par-71, 7,253-yard University of Georgia Golf Course.
The top finishers at each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., from May 29 - June 3.
Ramey will become the second Bulldog from State's golf program to individually qualify for postseason play this year. He joins fellow Fulton, Miss., native Ally McDonald, who played in the Women's West Regional as a freshman last week.
