Forty-Three Student-Athletes Awarded Diplomas At May Commencement
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Forty-three current and former student athletes were awarded diplomas from Mississippi State University at Friday evening and Saturday morning commencement programs in Humphrey Coliseum.
"All of us in the athletic department are proud of these 43 student-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom," director of athletics Scott Stricklin said. "Their dedication to both competition and academics should be commended, as should the leadership and guidance given by their coaches, staff and our academic team."
The Bulldogs will graduate eight from the sport of baseball, including three-time SEC academic honor roll recipients Brent Brownlee and Caleb Reed. Others currently on the baseball roster include Nick Routt and Tim Statz.
Six each from the soccer and women's track programs participated in graduation. Five football Bulldogs received diplomas, including recently drafted running back Vick Ballard.
