Ramey Garners Second-Team All-SEC Accolades

He is the first Bulldog to be named to an all-conference team since former MSU standout and current PGA Tour player Alex Rocha was named an All-SEC first-team performer in 2000. Ramey is the 18th player named to an All-SEC team in the program's 39-year history
"It's an honor to be chosen," Ramey said. "Some of the top golfers in the country play in the SEC and to be mentioned in that group is just an honor. I'm going to continue to work and help my team take the next step."
The Fulton, Miss., native owns a 72.39 scoring clip, which is currently slotted to be the sixth-best season scoring average in Maroon and White history. His current career average of 72.75 is also on pace to be the second-best all-time.
Ramey led State with nine Top 25's and three Top 10's this season. His 94 birdies is also tops on the team.
Ramey's share of seventh-place in the SEC Championship was the best finish by a Bulldog since Carlos Sainz, Jr., notched a runner-up finish in 2009.
"It is a great honor to be recognized among the best in the SEC," MSU coach Clay Homan said. "Chad continues to improve all the time, and he will continue to do great things at Mississippi State."
Other All-SEC selections in the Top 10 nationally include No. 5 Justin Thomas of Alabama, No. 6 T.J. Vogel of Florida and No. 8 Blayne Barber of Auburn. All 17 members of the first and second teams rank in GolfStat.com's Top 150 players in the nation.
Ramey is still eligible for individual postseason play and is expected to receive an NCAA Regional bid Monday, May 7. The top finishers in each of the regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship hosted at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
