Stratton On National Pitcher Of The Year Watch List

Stratton (7-0, 2.71) shares the top spot in the Southeastern Conference in both wins (7) and strikeouts (88), tying for third nationally in strikeouts and ranking among NCAA leaders with an 11.95 strikeouts/per average.
"The pitchers featured on this top 50 list have been dominant all season," said Justin Knowles, Pitcher of the Year Award co-chair. "They have impressive individual game statistics as well as season-long numbers that justify their inclusion on the list. I look forward to seeing how they finish the last month of the season."
Stratton earned national pitcher/player of the week and SEC Pitcher of the Week honors after his first start of the 2012 campaign, a dazzling 17-strikeout, 8.2-inning performance at LSU (Mar. 16) on the opening night of the SEC baseball season. He later registered 11 strikeouts on the road against two-time defending NCAA champion South Carolina (Apr. 13) and reached double figures again last week in a nine-inning series-opening stint against Tennessee.
He is one of nine pitchers from the Southeastern Conference named to the watch list.
The winner of this year's award will be announced June 30 in Lubbock, Texas, in conjunction with the College Baseball Hall of Fame's College Baseball Night of Champions celebration.
Stratton and the Bulldogs resume SEC play at home this weekend, hosting instate SEC rival Ole Miss in a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field. All three games, including Friday's 7 p.m. series-opener, will be televised.
