GOVERNOR’S CUP SET FOR JACKSON NEXT WEEK
Our baseball team will be in the Jackson area next Tuesday, April 17, for the annual Governor’s Cup game against Ole Miss at Trustmark Park in Pearl. I hope you will be on hand to support the Maroon and White. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
The Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter has invited all Bulldog fans to join them in the Farm Bureau Grill at the park, to watch the game and enjoy some Mississippi State hospitality. For just $30 per person, you will receive a ticket to the game and a trip through the Bulldog Baseball Buffet of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, potato salad, cookies, and soft drinks. Free beer will be available to adults, as long as supplies last. If you have already purchased your ticket, you can still join in the fun and fellowship by purchasing a food/beverage wristband for $15. Children aged 4 or under will be admitted at no charge.
This year’s game hospitality is sponsored by the Bulldog Club, Associated Architectural Products, Dr. Tommy Byrd and Florence Dental Clinic, and the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter.
To purchase a ticket or wristband, go to the Central Mississippi Chapter’s website (www.msu-alumni.com) and click on the Governor’s Cup icon. There will be a small convenience fee charged for this transaction. Tickets will also be available at the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter table outside the main gate at Trustmark starting at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the game. Seating is limited, so reserve your place in the picnic pavilion now. The Chapter will be taking reservations until 10 p.m., Sunday, April 15th. For additional information, please contact Fred Nichols at 601-594-5018 or email omc25@bellsouth.net.
JUST 10 DAYS REMAIN UNTIL SUPER BULLDOG WEEKEND
Just over a week is all that remains until Super Bulldog Weekend Presented by Regions Bank returns to campus. Tickets to the 2012 Spring Football Game, featuring a post-game concert by country music recording super star act Sugarland, are on sale to the general public. SBW Presented by Regions Bank/Sugarland tickets may be purchased on our official athletic web site (www.HailState.com/tickets) or by contacting our athletic ticket office in the Bryan Athletic Administration Building (1-888-GO DAWGS) for this first-ever event.
You won’t want to miss Coach Dan Mullen’s team in its final spring tune-up. It looks like this is going to be an exciting football team. I hope you are making your plans to be with us.
The Game Day Web Site for SBW Presented by Regions Bank has been launched - www.hailstate.com/gameday - and is available to the general public for review and planning purposes.
REMINDER: MAY 1 DEADLINE FOR BULLDOG CLUB, TICKETS
While we are getting set for Super Bulldog Weekend Presented by Regions Bank in just over a week, please remember that the May 1 deadline for ordering your football season tickets and making contribution adjustments through the Bulldog Club for priority consideration is just ahead.
Football season ticket re-orders generally run in the 95-97 percent range, and with the excitement in our football program running high, this season should be no different. Please don’t miss the deadline.
Likewise, if you care to make an increase in your giving level, prior to May 1 is the time to do it. Donation increases help establish a better priority for season tickets.
You may have seen in last week’s column that we have waiting lists for season tickets in all areas – general public, faculty/staff, regular chairbacks, club level and suites. Even those on the waiting list for season tickets should consider an increase in giving, as it will also help those still awaiting the opportunity to purchase season tickets for the first time.
MSU, SOCIAL PARTNER LAUNCH REWARDS PROGRAM
You may have seen that we have launched a new program, HailState Social Rewards, a social media fans engagement platform where our fans can show their support for Mississippi State athletics and each of our individual sport teams, and earn rewards in the process.
Developed in partnership with Lodestone Sports, our social partner and the leader in social media programs for college sports, fans receive points for participating in social media activities through our official social media accounts. Activities would include “liking” Facebook posts, commenting, sharing, tweeting hashtags, re-tweeting, checking in on Foursquare or Facebook, scanning student cards or posting photos and taking in-game polls with Social Stadium Twitter promotions. Fans can also gain points by taking polls, signing up for promotions, printing coupons and more on our official Team Facebook Pages.
The program tracks overall point leaders, athletics leaders and individual team leaders for every sport in which we compete. This will allow us to create a unique experience and promotion for each, drive awareness to our sports, and reward super fans for each of our teams.
All users need to do is sign up at www.hailstatesocialrewards.com, connect to Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, start engaging on our official social media accounts, and attend our sporting events. Grand prizes include running through the tunnel with the football team, iPads and an autographed ball from a coach of your choice. Fans at the top of the leaderboard for each sport will be entered into a chance to win one of the three prizes.
We are the first of Lodestone’s clients to launch this innovative social rewards program.
