MSU 18th In Perfect Game Poll; 15th In RPI Listing

College baseball writer Kendall Rogers with PerfectGame.org ranks Mississippi State (6-1) 18th in the online publication's weekly top 50 ranking. It's the highest ranking in any poll since MSU's 2011 NCAA Super Regional team posted a 38-25 record and were ranked as high as 15th in the final college baseball polls.
Florida (7-1) continues to hold down the top spot in the Perfect Game College Top 50 rating and in the other national collegiate baseball rankings.
Mississippi State plays the first of its seven scheduled midweek home games for 2012 Wednesday at 4 p.m. when the Bulldogs welcome to Dudy Noble Field the University of Memphis Tigers (3-3), coached by former MSU assistant Daron Schoenrock.
In other ratings of note for MSU baseball, State had a No. 15 RPI (Rating Production Index) and a No. 33 strength of schedule ranking by WarrenNolan.com. Arkansas (No. 7), South Carolina (No. 11), and Florida (No. 13) were the only other SEC teams in the RPI ranking's top 50. State's strength of schedule ranking is also the fourth-highest among SEC teams. State concluded the 2011 campaign with a No. 18 RPI ranking.
