Student Association/MSU Athletics Partner To Host

The event will take place in Davis Wade Stadium at 10:00pm on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 and will be open to students only.
Cowbell Yell will introduce the new freshman class to the great traditions that make up Mississippi State, as well as teach new traditions to upperclassman students. The event will feature the MSU Cheerleaders and Pom Squad, special surprise guests and an appearance from Coach Dan Mullen.
Co-Director of History & Traditions, Laura Touchstone, said “The inaugural Cowbell Yell will be much more than a Pep Rally.” It will feature a preview of the 2011 football videos and the first viewing of the new HD ribbon boards in Davis Wade Stadium. The event is titled “Cowbell Yell” to partly be a celebration of our great cowbell tradition and the future it holds for our University.
Mississippi State University Student Association President, Rhett Hobart says, “Cowbell Yell will serve as an opportunity for our entire student body to unite in Davis Wade Stadium on the eve of our first home football game against LSU.”
Student Association President, Rhett Hobart says, “We are thrilled to be working with the Athletic Department to create this event which we hope will be a new tradition for the kickoff of football season, and we are excited about continuing the partnership we have to provide students with the best athletic experiences possible.”
The Student Association is located in the Colvard Student Union on the campus of MSU. This organization serves as the governing body and liaison between students and university officials. The Mississippi State Athletic Department is located in the Bryan Building on the campus of MSU.
