Diamond Dogs Claim A Pair Of Top 20 Rankings

The Bulldogs are ranked 15th by Collegiate Baseball magazine this week and 19th in the latest rankings compiled by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. It's the highest ranking of the year for the Diamond Dogs, who were tabbed in a preseason coaches poll to finish sixth in the SEC Western Division.
Mississippi State concluded its 121st season of baseball with a 38-25 record and came within eight outs of its ninth advancement to the NCAA College World Series. Playing in their fourth NCAA Super Regional all-time and their third on the road, the Bulldogs dropped an 8-6 decision to No. 2 national seed and top-ranked (Collegiate Baseball poll) Florida in Sunday's super regional championship game in Gainesville.
MSU recorded four wins this season against the three SEC teams that have advanced to this year's College World Series, which begins Saturday at the new TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.
