2012 SUPER BULLDOG WEEKEND DATES SET
We have established the weekend of April 20-22, 2012, as our next Super Bulldog Weekend, and a busy weekend it is sure to be.
The athletic highlights of the weekend will again be the annual Maroon and White intra-squad spring football game and a Southeastern Conference baseball series against Tennessee.
But that just scratches the surface of the activities around and on the campus already scheduled for that 2012 weekend. Mississippi State will serve as the host for the SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament that weekend, and softball will host a home series against Kentucky.
To further add to the festivities, the Cotton District Arts Festival is also scheduled for that weekend, giving fans a great variety of events right off the heart of the campus.
Super Bulldog Weekend 2012 is already shaping up to be one of the best ever. Mark your calendars now!

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET RENEWAL DEADLINE ARRIVES
The football season ticket renewal deadline has come and gone, and all that is left now is a stack of mail and online orders that will take a while to process. It looks like we will have an incredibly high renewal rate. Now, we just have to wade through the orders already received to see where we stand. It could easily be the end of the month before we know how many, if any, season tickets were not renewed.
At this point, we have more than 1,300 orders from new customers or existing season ticket holders who want to add to their previous allotment. Those orders represent just short of 3,500 season tickets on the waiting list.

TODAY, TOMORROW, FOREVER….PART 4
As we announced a few weeks ago in this column, fund-raising has begun toward the construction of a new football training facility on our campus through our “Today, Tomorrow, Forever” initiative.
At that time, we began a series of videos to help answer many of the questions about the exciting future of our football facilities. Dan Mullen and I taped a four-part video series that discusses our needs and plans for both the training facility and future stadium expansion.
In this final segment on football facilities, we take a look at the long-term goal for our football stadium. In this final segment, we build off the immediate plans for Davis Wade Stadium that we showed last week in Part 3 and give you a sense of the additional phases that could occur over the next 20-25 years. We’re excited about the possibilities at Davis Wade and with our practice facility plans, and I think you will be as well.
All Bulldog Club members, alums, fans, and friends can now contribute to this effort through the Bulldog Club. Please follow the link for more information.

THANKS TO YOU, DONATIONS OFF TO A GREAT START
The Bulldog Club reports that donation levels for the beginning of calendar year 2011 show a dramatic up-turn in support of the athletic program. Since January 1,851 new members have joined the Bulldog Club, and a total of 1,446 members have increased their level of giving by a total of $3.03 million.
As we have often said, for us to get where we want to be in this demanding conference, it takes all of us doing our part. If you give $100 and can go to $150, that’s great. If you already donate $500 and can increase your giving to $1,000, outstanding. We certainly appreciate any and all support.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MEN’S TENNIS TEAM
It has been a remarkable year for Coach Per Nilsson and our men’s tennis team. A great regular season resulted in a Southeastern Conference Western Division championship.
And this week, the team learned its NCAA post-season reward – a No. 2 seed in the regional at Atlanta hosted by Georgia Tech. It is our men’s tennis program’s 20th NCAA Championship appearance all-time.
Our team, ranked 21st nationally, plays No. 47-ranked Florida State next Friday at 9 am CT.

IT’S A MAROON FRIDAY IN OUR STATE
One of the few weeks during the year that there are no athletic events on the Mississippi State campus. But Friday is still Friday, and maroon is still maroon. Are you in the maroon?

We appreciate what you do for Mississippi State Athletics and want to encourage you to get others involved. There are three things you can do to help the athletic department at Mississippi State reach its desired goals –
1. Buy Season Tickets
2. Financially Support the Bulldog Club
3. Get Others To Do The Same
Thanks for taking the time to read this Update.
Go Dawgs!
