Future Lady Bulldog Warren Wraps Up Prep Career With Top-10 State Finish
STARKVILLE, MISS. – Mississippi State women’s golf signed their second recruit for the 2011-2012 season. Austin, Texas, native Elena Warren completed her fourth-consecutive University Interscholastic League 5A state championship tournament with a ninth-place, 5-over-par 149 performance.
The face of her Del Valle High School golf program, Warren has represented Austin’s First Tee Chapter at the PGA Champions Tour’s Wal Mart First Tee Open at the legendary Pebble Beach in California. Known for her consistency, Warren has managed a mid-70’s scoring average for her career.
Not only does she shine on the links, but she handles her business in the classroom. Graduating ninth in her class showed MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm that Warren was right fit for Mississippi State.
“Elena is a welcomed addition to what we are trying to do here with women’s golf,” Brown-Lemm said. “She brings brains, game and desire to be part of a winning program. I am thrilled to have her join us.”
Warren will join the Lady Bulldog squad in the fall of 2011 and will look to immediately contribute amongst a host of young lady linksters.
