MSU Tennis' Louis Cant Named To CoSIDA District Academic Squad
Cant, one of three Bulldog juniors in 2011, earned his first career appointment to the district team. He will also be placed on the ballot for this year's national team, which will be released later this summer.
A 3.90 student in kinesiology, the Brugge, Belgium, native is also an Academic all-Southeastern Conference honoree and a four-time MSU President's List scholar.
In addition to his academic success, Cant helped lead State to its 20th NCAA Championship appearance and the SEC Western Division crown this season. Named 2011 second-team, all-SEC, he holds career records of 55-33 (singles) and 42-32 (doubles). He was 21-7overall in singles in 2011 and held career-high national rankings of 38th in singles and 33rd in doubles this year.
Cant posted an impressive dual match record in 2011 (16-4, .800), including a remarkable 9-2 in the SEC, and won 11 of last 12 singles matches to close the season.
