Women's Signee McDonald Wins Historical State Title From Men's Tees

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Incoming Lady Bulldog freshman Ally McDonald of Itawamba Agricultural High School became the first female on Wednesday to win the men’s Mississippi state golf title.
As one of the nation’s top high school golfers, McDonald, playing from the men’s tees, fired a 72 on day one of the event and bettered her score to 71 on day two to finish with a 1-under-par 143 to edge out a two-stroke victory to garner the Class 4A golf championship at the Cleveland Country Club.
A Top 10 rated player by Polo Golf Rankings, McDonald signed with Ginger Brown-Lemm’s Lady Bulldogs in November.
