Bulldog Tennis Set To Host #9 Georgia Sunday

Mississippi State is coming off a huge 6-1 upset over #4 Tennessee on Friday afternoon, as State defeated four of the top 125 ranked players in the country, including two in the top 15, after playing a superb doubles point to take the early lead.
"We had an incredible atmosphere Friday, with great support from our fans, and it really helped firing the guys up," head coach Per Nilsson said. "We need another big crowd Sunday when we host Georgia, another very talented top 10 team and a program with a tremendous tennis history."
MSU currently leads the SEC West and has won five of its last six matches heading into Sunday's match. Georgia, coming off a big 4-3 win over #25 Ole Miss on Friday in Oxford, currently leads the SEC overall and has won 11 straight matches dating back to their Feb. 19 win over Louisville at the ITA National Team Indoors.
State boasts three players ranked in the top 100 of the country. Junior George Coupland, who upset fourth-ranked Vol Rhyne Williams Friday, leads the trio ranking at #76 followed by fellow junior Louis Cant at #77. 94th ranked Artem Ilyushin is coming off a big win at the top spot for MSU where he defeated 12th ranked John-Patrick Smith of Tennessee.
