Bulldogs Work In Full Pads, Stay Indoors Again

STARKVILLE, Miss. - If head football coach Dan Mullen had his way, his
Bulldogs would stay outside for every practice, but here on Tuesday Mother
Nature had different ideas. For the second consecutive practice, State had to
move into the Palmeiro Center because of lightning and thunderstorms in the
area. However, the day was far from a waste.
"We had great attitude and effort today," Mullen said after the workout.
"First day in pads, so there were some mistakes that we'll get cleaned up, but
we did a good job of getting after it today."
After the initial pair of practices - limited to helmets only - focused on
the passing game, this afternoon the Bulldogs worked on the running game and
play-action passes.
State will return to the practice fields on Thursday afternoon for its
first outdoor work in full gear prior to a full two-week break from the practice
fields as the university dismisses for spring break.
"We'll do a little scrimmaging on Thursday, really see what we're working
with before the break," Mullen said.
