Jack Cristil Day Being Proclaimed March 16 In State Of Mississippi
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Hall of Fame Mississippi State radio play-by-play
personality Jack Cristil will be honored Wednesday, March 16, at the state of
Mississippi Capitol building in Jackson, for his storied 58-year association
with the university.
Both the Senate resolution, which passed on March 1, and the House
recognition, affirmed on March 4, proclaim March 16 as Jack Cristil Day in the
state of Mississippi. Cristil will be at the podium when the resolution is read
initially in the House, and then in the Senate chambers. Cristil will have the
opportunity to address both bodies following the reading of the
resolutions.
Mississippi State University President Dr. Mark Keenum and Bulldog Director
of Athletics Scott Stricklin will be among the university dignitaries on hand
for the Cristil recognition. Both resolutions allude to "You Can Wrap This One
in Maroon and White," Cristil's trademark signature following Mississippi State
victories.
